"My new Synergy road bike arrived on Friday. I promised to send word of my experience so far and now that I have a weekend behind me, here it is. Putting it together or "assembly" was easy and fairly painless (after calling you about pedal washers I couldn't find that were there all along)!! The instructions were easy to follow and the entire assembly took about 25 minutes to complete. This was a concern to me for two main reasons after talking with the guys at my local bike shop. 1) They said bikes that come through the mail are not tuned like the bicycles from the bike shops are. 2) It usually takes a professional bicycle mechanic to properly do the assembly so the product performs as it should. Both points concerned me for a few weeks, but after talking with Patrick on two separate occasions I took the plunge. Ok, point number 1) My Synergy was tuned well. The wheels were perfectly true, brakes adjusted perfectly, and the shift mechanism...well we will get to that in a bit. Point 2) I don't know what to say. The bike is 90 percent assembled, so its a matter of doing next to nothing to "assemble" it. I considered telling my family and the bike shop guys I assembled it myself in 25 minutes, leaving out the part about it being nearly completely tuned and assembled, but I didn't want to be that dishonest. I will address my only problem with the entire purchase to this point, and it's not a serious one to me. I noticed 2 small scratches, one on the front fork and another on the right rear triangle tube. These are very small and only an anal type owner would notice them. That is it, functionally and performance wise, the bicycle is perfect. Of special note is the incredible shifting, only the word smooth can come close to describing it. Now as for riding it! My first impression: Wow, this thing is quiet! I mean really quiet. A better name than Synergy would have been Stealth, it makes no noise whatsoever. I woke up early Saturday and went on a sunrise ride. Absent was the ratcheting sound of a traditional drive-train. Just the birds, the wind and the whispering of the Rubino slicks on the pavement. That was a ride I will remember for a while. The Alfine is flawless, shifts are smooth and crisp. As for gear ratios, I have had no problem with hills, gear selection is wide enough to tackle anything around here. So today, after 2 days of riding and 32 miles, I can say that this is a fantastic bicycle! It rides smooth and quietly and is very agile. Saturday on the bike paths I was proud to notice that among a sea of Treks, Felts and Specialized, I was the only Dynamic. One funny moment came when on a longer hill climb a guy riding a Trek 1.5 looked over at me, nodded, then looked at my rear tire and scrunched his eyes. He must have been wondering how this dude on a single speed was climbing this hill and keeping pace!!! I'm very happy that I took this chance with Dynamic and specifically with the Synergy. I was about to become another Trek owner, but this was the right move for me. Now I am not a trend setter or pioneer, but it is pretty cool having the only internally geared road bike in my area. The folks around here were not even aware there was such a thing...they are now! I look forward to putting a lot of miles on this bike and will keep you posted on how it goes. Thanks for everything and thanks for such a well functioning machine." |
''The Synergy is flawless. Blowing away Cannondales, Trek, and whatever is in front of me. The guys riding more expensive bikes are wondering how I'm keeping up. LOL...love this Bike! The Dynamic may not be expensive but it sure does ride like one. Keep up the good work.''Jeffery B., Dallas, TX
''Very impressed with the build of the bike, its ease of operation and feel for the bike, very smooth shifting. Finished a 45mi bike ride event with a group on Sunday and once again the bike’s performance was outstanding. On my previous road bike (Specialized 2008 Sequoia road bike (triple crank set)) I was riding at an average of 15-18mph and I had no trouble maintaining this pace with my new Synergy. My group was quite impressed with the bike’s performance (I was in a group with some Trek, Felt, Giant, and single speed road bikes as well as an updated steel frame road bike). Needless to say I am well pleased with the build of the bike’s frame/fork and its group components in making the Synergy truly an efficient performance road bike that is a pleasure to own and a joy to ride. .''David M., New Orleans, LA
''I am a very happy Dynamic Synergy roadie customer down here inAustin, TX. Have well over 1,000 miles on my bike including much time in the hillsaround here. So far haven't seen another one but I let others try it outat every opportunity. I never want another bike.''Martin B., Austin, TX
