October 5, 2005
October 5, 2005 (Medway, Mass.) - Dynamic Bicycles, Inc., the world's leading chainless bicycle company, introduced the world's first 8-speed chainless bikes, adding performance and gear range to their already established reputation for reliability and ease of operation.
Dynamic Bicycles is the first company to combine Shimano's award-winning Nexus 8 premium hubs with the shaft drive system to create a new class of chainless bikes that ride faster in more rugged consitions than ever before. "We are excited to add Shimano 8-speed to our product line-up" said Patrick Perugini, president of Dynamic Bicycles. "Although our 7-speed models have an ideal range for most of recreational riding customers, our performance-oriented customers will be very pleased with the added gear range and additional ruggedness of the Nexus 8 Premium."
New Dynamic Bicycles models using the Shimano Nexus 8 include the Outback full-suspension mountain bike, Switchback hardtail mountain bike, and Tempo hybrid model. "The Outback and Switchback models were designed to give more serious mountain biking enthusiasts the extra climbing power on steep off-road trails. For the money, these bikes will really give chain bikes a run for their money on steep, technical or rugged off-road rides. For commuters and fast recreational riders, the Tempo is a seriously fun, fast and reliable bike for all-weather, all-season riding. The extra gearing on the Tempo makes it easier to conquer steep hills more rapidly, where our recreational 7-speed bikes make you work a little harder for it," Perugini added.
All of these 8-speed bikes, like all Dynamic Bicycles, offer a fully enclosed shaft drive and all-internal gearing so there are no exposed, moving parts - meaning no grease to get on hands or clothes and more quiet, smooth riding. Dynamic's chainless system uses a sealed shaft drive and Shimano's advanced internal gearing that compresses all of the gear components into a compact, highly efficient rear axle (hub). This unique chainless drive system also requires very little maintenance, so owners spend less time in the bike shop and more time on the road or trail.
